Week in Review – Jan 11, 2015

This week was another pretty straight forward week. Lots of miles and lots of being busy!

This week I logged 35.33 miles in 5:21:35. As you can see I was able to run another half marathon distance today. I am surprised and happy that I was able to do so two weeks in a row. I feel like I have a pretty good base fitness going now and I am happy with how my training was going. I was actually able to PR on the half today and come in under my 2 hour goal time with a 1:59:27. I am pretty happy with that overall. I had to run on the treadmill again this week due to the bitter cold early this week. Today I should have run outside as it was much warmer, but I wanted to watch the Packer game too, so I decided to multitask and run while watching the Packer game.

You may also notice that I took yesterday off. In fact I did no specific exercise yesterday. My daughter had a dance competition very early so I couldn’t get to the gym before that. After she was done, I went to help my brother with some projects around his house since he helps me a lot. We installed an outlet in his kitchen, wired two rooms in his basement that he is finishing, and a few other odds and ends. We got a lot done, but I wasn’t able to get home until 11:00 pm, so I couldn’t get to the gym. Days like that really push me to purchase a treadmill of my own so I don’t have to worry about getting to the gym or running outside late at night. We will see what happens.

Wrap Up

That is it this week. Garmin announced a few new devices this last week at CES including the fenix 3 (I use the fenix 2). Excited to read more about that as it comes out, but otherwise not much else to talk about.
